Christening Saying On Cakes

Review 2010

The fateful hour balance sheets End of year has come! Our blog has existed for three years, each year the issue of TOP was pushed under the rug, swept by the usual arguments against TOPs that can actually cool guys who are a little too many questions, like: "And what -what happens if next March 3 I discover such a movie and forgot mega better than my top ten films together, "or" Remember the year of grace 1982, when I fucked Koyaanisqatsi atop my top to look close, while the same year AND burst the big screen by pointing his finger at my hole. I was not born in 82 whore, you can make mistakes when one is not born! ". Exit all these little annoyances. Now walk to the blog background, it was almost 20 visits per day, no off our own visits so it can be 19 times us and a fan of Lindsay Lohan but the absolute level of stats is great shape on our platform. So even if it is delayed by one month, there had to be Top and Top there a. To do this, we offer you our two respective rankings, which will have two Top 5, with brief comments to be particularly enlightening for movies that we have not yet mentioned (note that an article will develop our views on virtually every movie). Following what will the top players of he dared! , which we also asked to list the worst movies of 2010.

Felix :

1) Certified copy Abbas Kiarostami

My sidekick will speak certainly better than me. I found the movies with him, and it was a real delight. Lightened by a certain heaviness in this allegory A Taste of Cherry , Abbas Kiarostami book a work poetry that recalls the strength and grandeur of the film, brought here by a disarmingly simple via a magnificent turnaround. This film simply gives a high idea of cinema, and that is that we must recognize the most successful.

2) A Brand New Life of Ouine Lecomte

A Brand New Life is a little gem, with a sensitivity and a rare beauty. I regret that likewise has not heard of. This film deserves all the praise. It moved me deeply, so much so that I even difficult to speak with dignity.

3) In his eyes Juan Jose Campanella

In his eyes is an extremely attractive film, a creature of festoche covered with awards of all kinds, and I'm completely fallen under his charm. I took a real pleasure to follow him, a pleasure I had not felt since a lease when I found out. In his eyes is a very high entertainment bill, managing to mix different genres into a Hollywood film must have looked with envy and impotence.

4) The House of the Devil Ti West

I've already talked about this film detail some time ago. I have not seen him since, maybe they should, but it left me a beautiful feeling that I put it here without asking more questions. For me, it's just one of the best horror movies of recent years, and a more fitting tribute to the genre films that can be works like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez . Ti West reminds us that a good horror film can be done on a shoestring, so we are full of good intentions. The House of the Devil is a movie to discover them for fans, and I even recommend to others.

5) Moon Duncan Jones

To be honest with you, know that I hesitated between Moon and MacGruber for fifth place on my top staff. MacGruber killed me laugh several times, including during two terrible scenes which alone justified the presence of the film in my top. But once will not hurt, the seriousness caught me, and I opted to list here this sci-fi that is intelligent and rare Moon, which perhaps we'll talk at greater length soon. It is also worth noting that this is the first feature film by Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie. Expected already her next film , pitch catchy, forward, and we hope with all my heart that he will continue on this path.

And after?

As I said, I actually hesitated for fifth place on my podium ... I would have liked to put The Other Guys (Aka Very Bad Cops in vf), the latest comedy from Will Ferrell, as I remain a fan of the guy, I almost did. Is that a place in my top it was all booked. Alas, the film is not up to par, and although it is often quite funny, the disappointment is still the dominant feeling. I also hesitated with regard Ouine Lecomte. I do not know if we could say "a film Ouine Lecomte," the "to Ouine" bothered me. I said out loud several times to help me, and I finally decided to write "Ouine Lecomte. That's all you know. Apart from that, I also wanted to clarify that are still many films I have yet to see, and some of these films are even present in the top you will find below. I think especially to Venus Black I'm pretty sure that I like, given the criminal record of Abdellatif Kechiche.

Remi :

1) Certified copy Abbas Kiarostami

On top of this ranking I had no difficulty placing the extraordinary film by Abbas Kiarostami. A sublime film, absolutely perfect, and all points of view. Carried by a Juliette Binoche breathtaking film is exciting and deeply rich in both, which makes a total freedom and that leaves much to the viewer. Free one to try to discern fact from fiction in this story in two parts, or to make a personal truth, or, better yet, free to the viewer to draw from an inexhaustible source of joy to a film that does not choose, which do not respond, which simply play the score, a brilliant film about art, about the couple, a movie carried by grace. A film that reminds everyone especially the elemental beauty, efficiency and powerful sense of wonder of an art film which would almost forget how precious it is.

2) Uncle Boonmee (who remembers his past lives) by Apichatpong Weerasethakul

For the same power to the enchantment that the film Apichatpong Weerasethakul landed in second place in my ranking. Because even if this movie got less directly affected than Kiarostami, he never left me since I've seen the movies. I'm anxious to see him to find his best moments for me subjugated and soak again. Flanking the core sequence, which hit their peak, the opening and closing of the film claim conversely a more realistic style that makes the picnic in the present reign of a film speed, and sensational special effects. At the turn of a single false connection or an ordinary shot / reverse shot, reminds us Weerasethakul modestly and freely available to all art, the oldest and rudimentary techniques are an inexhaustible resource of rapture.

3) Bright star of Jane Campion

I said in these pages my love for this film, which has certainly not power or brightness two works I mentioned earlier, but nevertheless demonstrated a sensitivity and intelligence is increasingly rare today. Simultaneously realistic and poetic literally, Jane Campion's film is simply beautiful and very touching. It's just a movie about the nobility of feelings, which refuses to facilities and platitudes of romances current slump, which has bet on an original script, worked and enjoyable. With the bias of a conventional staging, and telling the love story of a romantic poet maudit, the filmmaker plays with clichés and grotesque touch to the most obvious subtlety. (See my review of the movie on the blog).

4) Black Venus Abdellatif Kechiche

With his third film Abdellatif Kechiche itself as a contemporary French filmmakers of the most important at the same time he promised a considerable work ahead. With humility and without giving it the air, he made a film of prodigious ambition. A long movie, but certainly history that showcases the fiction, in which the director confirms his talent, so rare, "storyteller." His storytelling is unusual and it becomes particularly effective when it takes on qualities for a documentary film very hard, with a keen intelligence, which of aggravation took the repeats will not leave unscathed and question the very role of the viewer.

5) Tour Mathieu Amalric

is welcome return to serious Mathieu Amalric, who sadly after scattered in a thousand roles as actor, is finally back behind the camera to direct a film vigorous, imperfect, uneven and conditioner. Because his film is all that once, so it is easy to confess mixed about it. Indeed, the sequences are music hall another level as more intimate sequences. But the marriage between these two worlds, these two fictions, works nonetheless. While the filmmaker does not take all his promises, those we had sent with his early accomplishments. Still, this film seems to have been done from life, is carried away by a breath of freedom and energy that makes a very foolish and that in itself is a new promise.

And after?

But I must speak briefly of these losers who could win. I hesitated, reluctant as always with this kind of ranking. It has pushed the gate. Among the losers, two films which my friend you will have spoken, the overwhelming A Brand New Life and very pleasant Moon. But two other films: Of Men and Gods and Bad Lieutenant , rightly acclaimed by our readers. I've already talked about the power of narrative film by Werner Herzog. Still a long and exhausting dense film, full of ambition and force that tends to finger her Hollywood by insisting on the possibilities and the richness of this Under the so-called simplicity. Or when the film he remembers enough of a lizard and an art of framing to evoke the inner world of a devastated real character in the guise ungrateful and adorable Nicolas Cage. As for the film by Xavier Beauvois, he also earned a spot in the rankings. On a topic far from clear with great skill, however, the film divides. Did not bother to political correctness which means that we avoid at all costs any evidence of Manichaeism or the smallest hint of complacency, the French director makes a pure hagiography, and so much for nuance. This sincere love for his characters, modeled on their own feelings, that could also qualify for the blind and is appealing enough to aggravate. Ditto for the sequence of the final meal on a background of Tchaikovsky, who swings between the ridiculous and magnificent. At the end of cinema is rather broadly positive that I had chosen the film. I can not wait to see him for maybe confirmed - at least I hope - this trial.

Top 10 players:

1) Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans Werner Herzog
2) True copy Abbas Kiarostami
3 ) Bright star of Jane Campion
4) Mother Bong Joon-ho
5) In his eyes Juan Jose Campanella
6) Uncle Boonmee Apichatpong Weerasethakul
7) A Brand New Life of Ouine Lecomte
8) Moon Duncan Jones
9) Black Venus Abdellatif Kechiche
10) Of Men and Gods by Xavier Beauvois

With this top, so our readers appear in perfect harmony with ourselves, since only Mother is not already in one of our two tops. Although it was viewed without displeasure, movie Bong Joon-ho, we were not totally convinced. Fail to enter this classification: Breathless , Fantastic Mr Fox , Lisbon Mysteries, The Town , Toy Story 3 and The Ghost Writer , it might even appear to a much better place if one of our readers had not at the top of the flop (she is tall and spins easily donuts, so we have nothing to do). This is the Werner Herzog film that appealed to many, and it logically why he finds himself at the top of this top. Nicolas Cage has found its fans, for sure.

FLOP The 10 players:

1) The Social Network David Fincher
2) Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton
3) Any that glitters Géraldine Nakache
4) Knight & Day James Mangold
5) Les Petits handkerchiefs Guillaume Canet
6) Mr Nobody Jaco van Dormael
7) Gainsbourg (heroic life) Joann Sfar
8) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 David Yates
9) Adventures extraordinary Adele Blanc-Sec Luc Besson
10) Heartbeats Xavier Dolan

real plebiscite for the latest film from David Fincher, The Social Network yet on course to win all the Oscars and that can also be found at the top of tops on many other blogs and magazines of all kinds. We must believe that it is among the readers of our blog that Fincher has done "a few enemies." Add that if only we are here very proud of our players. To be honest with you, know that a review of the movie by David Fincher in our sleeping rough for over two months. Should think this film is so boring that we are reticent to even come back to tell you wrong. But this criticism is coming soon, I promise. For the rest, what about? Expressed by a real release for all these shitty big machines, with which we were basins for weeks or even more, it is globally (Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, etc.) or only in our sweet and beautiful countries (Gainsbourg, Everything shines, The Little handkerchiefs, Adele Blanc-Sec). You could almost surprised not to find Inception in this flop. He could have included, as some of you have indeed hated, but some others liked it and placed it in their tops ... In any case, we will try to criticize him soon, although as the film Fincher we delay the deadline for fear of us back into the sick mind of Chris Nolan.

We thank all those who kindly participated in these rankings.
